The Role
Are you passionate about data and keen to apply your analytical skills in a meaningful way? We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Estates Services team. In this role, you will analyse and manage data related to the University’s facilities, assets, and sustainability projects. Your insights will directly influence decision-making processes and contribute to the University’s mission of achieving net-zero emissions and enhancing the efficiency of our estate operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Digital Estates team and other departments to develop and implement data-driven strategies that support the University’s sustainability goals.
- Collect, clean, and manage datasets from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Analyse large datasets to extract actionable insights, contributing to the improvement of campus operations and sustainability initiatives.
- Produce regular reports and data visualizations that inform key stakeholders, including the preparation of the annual HESA Estates Management Return.
- Support the adoption and ongoing management of digital tools like BIM, Digital Twin, and GIS within the Estates Services.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards, safeguarding sensitive information.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or MSc. in Data Analytics, Data Science and Statistics, Business Analytics.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, SQL) and data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- A genuine interest in sustainability, digital twins and the built environment.
