We are scaling our Machine Learning Function and looking to recruit an experienced Data Scientist with proven track record of developing and deploying Machine learning solutions addressing business needs. In this role you will be asked to scale out NLP and Gen AI capabilities in optimizing our business process. More specifically you will be training, deploying, and maintaining existing NLP models, building Gen AI applications, build and enhance ML Ops capabilities.
You’ll be working with architects, product owners and business analysts and contributing to the requirement definition, solution design and architectural designs. You’ll also be involved in sprint planning by defining and owning the machine learning backlog as well as providing estimates for your work.
You’ll be working with the technology team and business stakeholders and will help to solve problems by using data to identify and create new machine learning, and automation solutions. You’ll also be helping to share your knowledge by collaborating with the wider IT team and helping to develop process and training documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering NLP and Gen AI based automations that supports the business team in enhancing the customer journey
- Maintaining and retraining our existing machine learning models
- Test driven development, clean code, and documentation
- Building data transformation and inference pipelines
- Delivering on agreed service levels, which you’ll agree with your manager – and your contribution to our commitments
- API based development to integrate ML models with other applications
- Work with business stakeholders and project team to identify ML and IA opportunities, and understand and capture business requirements
- Provide quality assurance on machine learning code developed by other team members
- Works with the IT infrastructure owner for ongoing maintenance of IA infrastructure elements
- Agreeing and recording the appropriate hours and story points of development time – making sure you deliver on expectations for how long testing will take
- Working with the wider IT team of developers, architects, administrators, and the team leader to address daily issues
- Taking personal responsibility for delivering on your objectives in line with our values
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:
Minimum Criteria
- Having an excellent understanding of different machine learning techniques and ability to explain the methods in detail (regression, clustering, decision trees, reinforcement learning, gradient boosting, CNN, RNN, LSTM, Attention Models, Encoder and Decoder, Transformers, Vector semantics)
- Solid programming experience in Python, Pytorch or TensorFlow, TDD experience essential
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipeline in Azure Devops, Azure ML
- Working in an agile development environment with the ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical outputs to a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Being able to provide estimates against organisational requirements relating to cost and development tasks
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in developing NLP applications preferable.
- Understanding API based development (e.g. REST APIs) to integrate with different systems – preferable
- Building data transformation pipelines using SQL and No SQL DB
- Developing serverless pipelines in Azure, AWS or GCP
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipeline in Jenkins or Github actions and ML Ops pipeline in SageMaker or Vertex AI
