The Head of Data Science & Analytics plays a highly strategic role in supporting the growth of our global categories in Health BU through driving global strategy, data and insights leadership team within our CDO/headquarters organization and leading globally our data & analytics function reporting into the global director of strategy, data and insights.

This role’s responsibilities encompass a broad range of data insights, data analytics and data science elements. With 6 direct reports, it has a multifaceted role of a) supporting global leadership (ie. corporate & brand/category leaders) with market performance insights b) driving global transformational programs on data, data analytics and data sciences, c) being the global centre of excellence on this field & d) driving specific complex analytics efforts first hand.

Responsibilities of the teams within role include:

  • Data sciences and CRM analytics – this team will be driving analytics with the consumer level datasets to drive acquisition, retention and extension. This will include data science, segmentation, machine learning, A/B testing, etc
  • Global Predictive models CoE – team made of a data scientist and business transformation manager that drive our predictive modelling efforts globally. As many our categories are seasonal (cold&flu, summer, etc) finding the right predictive models and then predicting when the moments of high incidence / purchase of our categories will happen its key to drive efficiency of our marketing dollars
  • Global digital and Marketing Mix (MMX) analytics – Group of individuals with a dual role leading global transformational MMX program across the covering more than 25 categories & market combinations that account for more than 50% of our growth. This being digital analytics CoE. Working together with global media and insights teams as well as country leadership
  • Market performance insights team – Team accountable for global & regional business insights based on our market data (Nielsen, IRI, IQVIA, etc) working with global and regional RB leadership. This team is the main source of in-market performance data and insights for global and regional RB leadership working closely with the strategy team

Profile

  • Strong stakeholder management skills engaging with multiple stakeholders both from business and data & analytics point of view
  • Bias towards action and drive for results
  • Influencing skills & conformable with ambiguity
  • Bias towards business insights and implications and ability to work easily with data
  • Strong analytical mind, ease to work with numbers
  • Strong understanding of data & analytics fields: ideally with experience in the following: Machine Learning, Python/R/SAS, SQL, Syndicated data, consumer data, etc
  • Strong communication skills
  • Conformable leading various teams simultaneously

Previous relevant experience

  • Relevant leadership experience in data science and analytics in consumer goods, retail or consumer health environment
  • Strong background in digital performance marketing (DMP, etc) & eCommerce analytic & eCRM
  • Consumer goods analytics suite: MMX, pricing & promo, digital marketing, etc
  • Multi-national experience and experience leading global or complex regional programs
