As a Principal IT Expert You Will

  • be the lead expert on data intelligence, analytics and big data technologies at the ECB;
  • play a leading role in designing and developing the DISC platforms and services;
  • supervise operational support requests, DISC-related services coordination and external managed services;
  • supervise the overall management of the data factory and metadata services;
  • draw up budgets for ongoing activities and for daily operating services;
  • negotiate contracts and statements of work;
  • foster collaboration between IT and business areas;
  • contribute to the development of the Division’s work programme and the reporting of budget and resources allocated to it;
  • coordinate and coach a team of other project managers, business analysts and IT experts.

Essential Qualifications, experience and skills

  • a master’s degree in information technology, computing, science, engineering or another relevant field;
  • six years of professional experience in complex IT projects;
  • experience of coordinating technical teams composed of both internal and external staff;
  • deep knowledge of IT technologies, trends and business practices in the field of data management and analytics;
  • knowledge and experience of implementing big data technologies and state-of-the-art data analytics combining structured and unstructured data with their associated metadata in a secure manner;
  • an advanced command of English and an intermediate command of at least one other official language of the EU.

  • experience in public procurement, tender management and contract execution;
  • experience as a project manager;
  • relevant experience of working at the ECB would be an asset.
