The Medtronic Digital Surgery Business has created a digital data-driven ecosystem that uses the latest cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, augmented reality and computer vision to modernize surgical training, orchestrate surgical teams in the operating room (OR) and deliver safer surgery around the world. You will be working in a start-up environment within a large corporate organization where you will be trusted to make important decisions, and your impact seen worldwide.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Create and maintain Tableau dashboards for efficient data visualization
  • Analyze surgical datasets using statistical methods to derive insights
  • Work extensively with databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility
  • Investigate new methodologies for effective data reporting
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and streamline workflows

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • MSc or PhD in a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subject
  • Extensive experience in building dashboards preferably using Tableau
  • Experience in database tools and ETL/ELT processes such as data build tool (dbt)
  • Excellent Structured Query Language (SQL) skills
  • Experience doing data modelling and familiar with good practices
  • Broad statistical knowledge
  • A demonstrated ability for developing innovative experimentation and analysis methods to infer insights from complex sets of data
  • Practical object-oriented programming experience in Python with knowledge of relevant packages including Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn
  • Experience in writing clean and maintainable code for collaborative working and using code versioning tools
  • Excellent communicator - comfortable talking with programmers, marketers, surgeons, business leaders, and everyone in-between

Experienced in using tools for handling big data and working with clinical data sets is a plus. Proficient in data compliance, is also a preferred.
